   No one with any real morals would ever deal with them in the first place. Bush’s commutation of Libby’s sentence is disgusting and only serves to reenforce the notion that justice and the laws of this land do not apply to the rich and powerful, but then anyone who’s been paying attention already knew that!

   Tell me, how do you feel about Bill Clinton’s pardons? Marc Rich, who sold arms and American weapons technology to enemies of the U.S., was only the most glamorous.

   Lewis Libby did nothing violent or criminal, yet he was sentenced to serve more prison time than many violent felons. If that’s your idea of justice, you can keep it.

   first off, my post was never meant to excuse Bill Clinton’s actions, but rather to shed light on the tragedy that is the current political scene. however, I would say that the pardon of Marc rich at least had the illusion of distance, while the Libby-bush case seems way too close for comfort.

   for all violent offenses the mean time served was 48 months, a bit longer than scooter would have served given time off for good behavior. his sentence was fine, people entrusted with public service should be scared shitless of fucking up.

   Libby was the lucky one, some other people took the fall.
